How to clean wood cabinets and make them shine

When cooking, it is impossible to avoid oil grease stains on the stove. These stains make the kitchen look ugly over time. Cabinets, hoods, and stoves are the most commonly affected areas.

Dry or damp cloths won’t remove these oil stains from kitchen utensils. Chemical cleaners do not work well when combined with dust on devices, and ammonia-based cleaners are harmful to health.

Techniques that are basic and effective

  1. Mineral oil can be applied to a paper towel by dipping it in it.
  2. This paper towel will remove oil stains from your hood’s oil surface and stove. Baking soda can be added to mineral oil if there is a high concentration of oily substances and other substances mixed with oil.
  3. Clean the surface again with another paper towel to remove any remaining oil. In this way, you’ll be able to clean the device more easily next time and make the desired surface look more glossy.
  4. Combine warm water and white vinegar in equal parts.
  5. Clean your kitchen cabinets using this solution and remove light oil stains with a cloth or sponge. White vinegar can be applied directly to hard stains and then cleaned with a damp cloth and cold water.
  6. This method can also be used with hot water and baking soda to clean your kitchen hood filter. You can boil some water and add baking soda to it, stir well to combine thoroughly, then dip the hood filter into it and wipe it clean.
  7. Rinse the hood filter with hot water if the lubricants are not thoroughly cleaned.

Using a cloth towel and hot water and baking soda, you can also clean your stove and kitchen cabinets.

If mineral oil is not available, you can use vegetable oils instead. Stainless steel and wooden items can be cleaned from oil stains with vegetable oil, which is a safe, effective, and natural substance. If you want to clean the desired surfaces, it is better to use mineral oil rather than vegetable oil because vegetable oil may make your kitchen utensils yellow and sticky.

Baking soda paste and hydrogen peroxide can also be used as a degreaser to remove kitchen oil stains.

The combination of lemon and soda also effectively removes fat stains.

In combination with hot water, dishwashing soap has degreasing properties. To remove oil stains from your cabinets, fill your sink with hot water, add a tablespoon of dish soap, and use a sponge to make circular motions. After that, wash your cabinets with cold water.

When metal cabinets are washed too much, they lose their color or rust, so drying them is as important as cleaning them.

Protect your cabinets after cleaning them with vegetable oils such as lemon oil, oak oil, pine oil, maple oil, and other oils.

How to remove oil stains

  1. Clean and remove oil stains from the wall surface by determining the path of the oil spray and wiping the stains in the direction the oil was sprayed.
  2. Using a soft cloth with high absorbency that does not scratch the wall, remove oil and other stains.
  3. Avoid wiping the surfaces in a circle and pull the fabric from one side to the other. After cooking, wipe the surfaces with a towel immediately.
  4. Clean metal surfaces thoroughly with a dry cloth after cleaning, as water can damage metal over time.

Contaminants in the kitchen can be removed in other ways

Wax from candles:

By using candle wax, you can remove many impurities from your kitchen tiles and ceramics.

Water from rice:

It is easy, economical, and environmentally friendly to remove grease stains from the stove with rice water. Allow the rice water to dry on your stove’s surface, then wipe off stains with a damp cloth.

The following detergents are available:

Warm water and detergent can be used to remove oil stains, but be careful because their chemical composition may cause skin irritations.

Lemon and baking soda:

Lemon and baking soda work well together to remove newly formed fat stains.

Water that is hot:

If You can remove grease stains from the stove, floor, or other kitchen utensils immediately with hot water when the oil stain is fresh.

To remove oil stains, use baking soda.

To remove hard stains, mix lukewarm water (240 ml) with baking soda to form a paste, then knead the dough with a cloth. Wipe the surfaces with a clean cloth after rubbing a sponge on the stains.

Clean fat levels with vinegar and water

Add equal parts vinegar and lukewarm water to a sprinkler and sprinkle on the stains. Wait 5 minutes for the vinegar mixture to dissolve the stains. In the end, wipe the surfaces you sprinkled vinegar on with a damp cloth and dry them with a dry cloth.

Olive oil is used to polish metal surfaces

Dip a soft cloth or cotton swab in olive oil to coat your metal surfaces so they will not stain and will be shiny. Instead of olive oil, you can use metal polishes.

Tips for removing grease stains

Keep your kitchen hood clean at least once every two weeks to prevent grease and dirt accumulation.

A monthly cleaning of the hood filter is ideal.

Dishwashers can be used to wash some filters.

Whenever possible, cover the pot and pan with a lid and don’t touch the kitchen cabinets with greasy hands.

Cleaning metal surfaces with hard wire brushes or coarse sponges will scratch them.

To get rid of stains on the wall, you need to get rid of them quickly.
