Learn about the causes and remedies for itchy ears

The human inner ear is empathetic, and therefore even a sudden change can lead to itchy ears. The ear canal is covered with sensitive nerve fibers that make the ears reactive and prone to itching.

Despite the common annoyance, most people who suffer from this problem experience stress and a bad temper when dealing with this problem. It is used to solve non-sterile materials and sharp objects such as toothpicks and pins, and keys to relieve itching.

Using such abrasive tools in the ear canal can cause scratching or tear of the skin. This, in turn, facilitates the entry of bacteria and foreign particles, leading to severe infections.

Home and natural remedies to relieve itchy ears

  1. gravity:

Place the other side of your head parallel to the ground with the injured ear. Put your finger clean in your ear, and now try to create a vacuum.

Use a cotton ball or towel to clean the discharge. You can also easily lie on your side and put a towel under your ear.

  1. Hot water to relieve ear itching:

Fill a plastic syringe with warm distilled water. Straighten your head and pull your outer ear to flatten the ear canal. Using a syringe, pour a small amount of water into the ear canal.

Leave it for a minute and then empty it by tilting your head to the opposite side. Clean the water and wash with a clean cloth. Repeat this process in your other ear.

  1. Adjust the air pressure to treat itchy ears:

Close your mouth and hold your nose with your fingers, then take a deep breath. Exhale and exhale to adjust air pressure. If done correctly, it will open the ear canals.

  1. Remove ear itching with olive oil:

Lie on the opposite side of your injured ear. Gently pull back the outside of your ear. Apply two or three drops of lukewarm olive oil to your ears using a dropper.

  1. Hydrogen peroxide to relieve itchy ears:

Mix hydrogen peroxide (3%) and water in equal proportions. Fill the dropper with this material. Tilt your head and put a few drops of this solution in your ear.

Hold this position for a while. Then, tilt your head in the opposite direction to drain the solution. Then wipe off the excess with a clean cloth.

Repeat this process for your other ear.

  1. White vinegar:

Mix equal proportions of white vinegar and alcohol in a bowl. Dip one cotton ball into warm paraffin two times, pausing between layers to allow them to dry. Pull the patient’s ear up and then pour 2-3 drops of this solution into the ear.

Wait 5 minutes, and then bend your head in the opposite direction until gravity acts and the solution and wax come out of the ear canal. Then clean the excess ear fluids.

  1. Hot compress to treat itchy ears:

Soak a cloth in warm water and squeeze out any excess water. Apply this warm water compress on your ear for 5 minutes. Use a mild detergent to wash your ears. Use this treatment twice a day for a few days.

  1. Using a hairdryer to treat itchy ears:

Remove the earlobes from the body. Place the hairdryer about 10-12 inches from your ear. Adjust the temperature of the hairdryer to warm and ventilate the ear.

Please turn on the hairdryer and place it directly on the ear. Hold the hairdryer here for about 30 seconds.

Tip: Do not blow-dry your ears for more than a few minutes.

  1. Keep your ears dry:

Dry your ears thoroughly after being exposed to moisture from swimming and bathing.

Just dry your outer ear and gently wipe it with a soft towel. Tilt your head to the side to help drain water out of the ear canal.

To prevent water from remaining in the ear canals while bathing, place two cotton balls soaked in Vaseline in the outer ear.

It is essential to keep the outside of the ear clean. Always wear earplugs when swimming to prevent water from entering and contaminating, and also use earplugs when attending loud concerts or other noisy events.

Other tips for itchy ears:

Yawning or chewing can also help pull out the ear canal by applying pressure to the middle ear and stretching the ear canal.

Clean your ears regularly to prevent grease, skin cells, and debris from slipping into the cavity.

Avoid placing foreign objects in the ear.

Protect your ears from irritants such as sprays and hair dyes by placing cotton swabs in your ears. However, be sure not to insert them too deep.

If you suffer from dry ears, use a fumigator to add moisture to your home environment.
