The essential rules of mobile use for children

One of the most advanced human technologies is the mobile phone. The use of smartphones by children is unavoidable today, and they cannot be deprived of this tool. However, leaving them unsupervised with access to mobile phones is also harmful. In this article, we have listed the rules that every child must know and sign before using a mobile phone.

The essential rules of mobile use for children

Before using a mobile device, do your personal work.

Tell your child to do their chores first before letting them use a tablet or mobile phone. Get rid of cell phone addiction before you can expect your child to listen to you and use your cell phone only when necessary.

Chatting with strangers is not a good idea.

It is better to forbid your child from talking to strangers if he uses tablets and mobile phones. As children are unaware of any communication issues, it is best to tell them not to communicate with strangers in chat rooms.

Before going to sleep, avoid using your mobile phone.

Ask your child not to use a cell phone or tablet before bed. Don’t let your child hold the phone all day. It should be clear to him that every time he uses his mobile phone and tablet, he has to rule.

At the dining table, do not use mobile phones or tablets

As your child’s mirror, follow the rules you set for him; for example, if you rule that your child may not take a tablet to dinner, follow that rule yourself.

During family time, do not use your mobile phone.

When your child uses a tablet or cell phone, it is best to consider the rule that you shouldn’t use a cell phone at family gatherings. If you want, you can set it so that every family member picks up the phone and no one has a phone to play with or talk on.

Passwords should not be entered.

You should instruct your child not to put a password on their tablet or mobile phone, and if they want to encrypt their tablet or mobile phone, parents should be notified.

Sending photos to strangers is not a good idea.

Tell your child not to send their picture to strangers if they are using a tablet or cell phone. Remind him not to send private photos of his body to relatives and acquaintances. Cyberspace is a good place for sexual harassment to occur since it is not limited to absolute spaces.

Public places are not the best places to use your mobile phone.

Your child should not use mobile phones or tablets in crowded public places such as buses, markets, or streets because it can result in theft and harm.

Some programs should not be installed.

Instagram, for example, has an age limit, so your child should not have such an application installed on their phone since it has a virtual open space. Use some fun and educational apps on your child’s phone.

In your role as a parent, you should:

Check out who your children interact with online.

Teach your children how to use mobile phones by being a good role model.

Keep track of your child’s mobile searches or activities.

Talk to your child about their interest in cyberspace, their favorite mobile games, or anything else they might be interested in, and try to become friends with them.

Mobile phones and tablets should never be left alone in a room or away from parents for long periods of time.

Mobile phones and tablets must be used at a specific time, place, and in a specific manner.
